Author Interview with Donna George Storey

Interview with Donna George Storey

Q. What was your childhood ambition?

I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was six years old.

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

I still want to be a writer, and with over one hundred publications I supposed I’ve succeeded, but I’ve refined my goal. I want to change the world one dirty story at a time. And I do believe more stories that explore the power and pleasure of sexuality will make a difference! Continue reading

Q. What was your childhood ambition?
My first one was to be a writer, then I got a little older and was convinced I was going to become Christian Slater’s wife, then I got even older and it was back to being a writer.

Q. What are the most important components that go into making  good erotic fiction?
Not putting any limits on your imagination or being scared of pushing down boundaries.

Q. What does your working day typically consist of?
Getting up as late possible, I’m a girl that was definitely made to spend as much time in bed as possible. Staring at a blank screen daydreaming for far too long. Possibly going back to bed with my favourite buzzing friend. After lunch frantically typing and getting everything in my head down on paper. In the evening it is careful fine tuning word by word, or if it is a good day I am busy getting real life inspiration for my next story. Continue reading

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

I’d still quite like to be a spy. And to publish more books.

Q. What was your first job?

It was bad. I can’t remember the precise details. Later I was a barman. That was better. Continue reading

What ambitions do you  have?
To make an honest living as a writer of erotica };)
How did you end up being an erotic writer?
I see this question a lot, and I always try to answer it well. I started writing erotica because I was wholly disastisfied with the quality of the writing I saw produced in the genre. I don’t write for the ‘mainstream’, I’m not certain if I really am able. What I do write is for the people who truly enjoy pushing the envelope in terms of physical experience – cyberpunk, sci-fi, vampirism – which has suddenly seen a resurgence thanks to the ‘Twilight’ series – steampunk, pirates… I’m actually slightly turned off by ‘vanilla’ style eroticism. Q. What was your childhood ambition?

To be able to fly. Then to marry Steve Guttenberg. Then to be one of The A-Team. Then to be a writer. The writer one stuck. The others kind of didn’t pan out. Steve still calls, however.

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

To continue being a writer. Just always to continue. Like, if my arm fell off- I would hope I could attach some sort of device in order to continue typing two handed. A fake arm, a long stick- anything really.

And also if the places I publish at and want to publish at could continue to exist and also one day maybe like me – in the case of the latter – that would be awesome. Continue reading
