Author Interview with Sharazade

Q. What was your childhood ambition?

To be a lawyer. That was my dream from about age 4, until one day, as a junior in college, I suddenly awoke and said, “I must major in French literature.” And did.

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

I think I have desires rather than ambitions. There are still a lot of countries I’d like to visit. I want to take a trapeze class. I’d like to learn another foreign language. But if those things don’t happen, I won’t feel cheated or disappointed. In terms of my career and personal life, I feel satisfied with where I am. That’s not the same as feeling “finished” or complacent, of course. Continue reading

What was your childhood ambition?
I first wanted to be a cartoonist for Warner Bros., then a DJ for KJR Seattle like my idol Pat O’Day, then a songwriter like Bob Dylan, and a storyteller like Mark Twain. There’s still time, isn’t there?

What ambitions do you still have?
Write and publish a few books of course, then set up a publishing house that
highlights new writers, like Dave Eggers wonderful work with McSweeneys and The Believer. Continue reading

Author Interview with Jenny Swallows

Q. What was your first job?

I was cashier at a little gas station in town…

Q. How did you end up being an erotic writer?

I was the girl who used to spend all day in class composing funny little verses to amuse my friends, and they just started growing more and more sexual – I suppose as I did.  Then I carried on for my own amusement, until one day I sent one to another writer, Chrissie Bentley, after reading something she’d published online.  She e-mailed back to say she loved it, and encouraged me to start posting on the same site (eroticstories.com).  It was a little difficult at first, because I think I was the only person posting verse on the site and some readers were very hostile towards it, but I slowly found an audience and I’m now #26 on the readers’ Top 100 authors list. Interview with Dorla Moorehouse

1. What was your childhood ambition?

To be a professional ballerina. I ended up not having the correct body type or the talent.

2. What ambitions do you still have?

To teach ballroom dance and to publish a novel.

3. What was your first job?

I first worked as a counselor at a day camp. I spent four summers supervising, helping with crafts, making sure kids at lunch, and generally trying to keep everyone out of trouble. Clearly there was some aspect I liked, because I kept returning every year, but I never wanted to have kids after that. Continue reading

Author interview with Johnny Miles

Author interview with Johnny Miles
What was your childhood ambition?
I don’t think I ever really had a childhood ambition. I more had dreams and wishes for things I wanted to see happen, like world peace. The end of poverty, disease and famine. Yeah. I was a dreamer. Even now, at the risk of sounding like Miss America, I still want world peace and solutions that will end hunger, homelessness, diseases. Solutions to our dependency on oil would also be very cool!
More than anything, though, I would like to able to continue writing, getting published and make enough money so that I can pretty much do anything I want, whenever I want, and the continued health to enjoy all this wonderful life has to offer.
What ambitions do you still have?
To travel the world and expose myself to different cultures. Few things are as exhilarating as traveling to a place you’ve never been before. I’d love to be able to pick a location and write an erotic romance revolving around that locale, living there until I’m done with the story.
Barring that, I would love to someday be able to work with such brilliant and talented writers as Russell T. Davies and Armistead Maupin. Continue reading

Author Interview with Primula Bond

What was your childhood ambition?
Predictably enough, to be a famous writer with my novels displayed in the window of WH Smith.  I wrote my first novel when I was 8.
What was your first job?
Sitting in a modern art gallery off Regent Street handing out brochures and smiling sweetly at the punters.  Also handing round drinks at private views where I met various celebrities including Princess Margaret!  I regularly got propositioned by artists including a lovely Irish one called Clancy who succeeded in painting my portrait.  I wish I had it now – I was in my pre-Raphaelite prime at 18 years old! Q. What was your childhood ambition?

To be a writer… I just hadn’t decided what I wanted to write.

Q. How did you end up being an erotic writer?

Initially (seven years ago) to relax, and to take my mind off a failed relationship… revenge therapy.  But then I discovered how much I enjoyed the writing process, and began publishing stories online. Continue reading

Author interview with Kay Jaybee

Interview with Kay Jaybee
Q. What was your childhood ambition?
Rather predictably, I always wanted to write and have a book published. I still can’t believe it’s happened!! My first solo work, The Collector (Austin & Macauley, 2008), has been out for 18 months now, and I’ve just had 2 e-books published by Xcite (Quick Kink 1 and Quick Kink 2). I get a massive high out of getting my work is in print, whether it’s an individual story, a poem or entire book. I really hope I never lose that buzz.

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

Writing erotica is my first love, and I’d love to have a complete erotic novel published alongside my anthologies. It would also be fantastic to have some of my children’s stories or general fiction published. Continue reading

Q. What ambitions do you still have?

To  live long and prosper, and thus launch my family. (Still seem to be launching them in my sixties).

To break into mainstream Science Fiction. I’ve just had an erotic SF novella published by Xcite – Ice Commander. This is a good beginning.

To still be alive when there is evidence of life and/or intelligence elsewhere in the universe/ multiverse. Continue reading
